What is PoundAd?
PoundAd classified ads was launched in 2008 as the most comprehensive yet easy-to-use classified ads website available. Our aims are to:

 | PoundAd was founded by Managing Director Peter Bisset a recent graduate of Bournemouth University. "The idea behind PoundAd was to create an alternative to online auctions where people can sell without losing a percentage of the value of their goods. In addition many people are aprehensive about buying online so PoundAd takes the more traditional approach by allowing people to search locally and actually view goods before they buy." |

Experience BusinessAd’s revolutionary testimonials! Have you ever used a service in your local area, only to find it didn’t meet your expectations? BusinessAd testimonials allow you not only to find local services but also to rate how well they performed for you, and see what other people thought of their products or services.
PropertyAd
PropertyAd allows buyers and sellers of property to place and view high quality classified ads including a range of properties throughout the country. Search for properties using specific criteria, and view very detailed ads including up to 8 pictures.

Why PoundAd?
Sell:
- The cheapest and most effective way to place a classified ad. The first 50,000 adverts are free of charge after which adverts will cost just £1.
- Place a classified ad on PoundAd and you can target your item to a local audience. Users are able to search by postcode, town, county, region or nationwide.
- Advertise your business on PoundAd, and not only will people be able to easily find you, with our testimonials they can see how well you have performed in the past and rate your products and services.
Find:
- Search our classified ads locally by postcode, by town or broaden your search to include the county or whole region. Alternatively search nationally, PoundAd allows you to pay an advertiser over the internet.
- Find businesses providing goods and services, and view the testimonials to see how well they performed for other people.
How to place an Ad?
- From the homepage click on ‘AdvertiseNow’
- Register your details with us if you have not already done so, if you have, simply log in.
- Fill in the appropriate details about your classified ad, putting as much detail as you possibly can. (This will make it easier for people to find your ad)
- Review your classified ad and make sure all of the details are correct.
- Read the terms of use page, and click to accept.
- Once you are happy with the details of your ad, click on ‘Continue'.
- Check the details of your advert.
- Click "Activate Advert" to post to the directory or click "Update Advert" to amend the details.
- Your classified ad can be edited or removed at any point after it has been published, simply log into your account and click on the edit or remove ad links.
BusinessAd Testimonials
PoundAd's BusinessAd Testimonials allow you to rate products and services provided by a local business. Simply find the classified ad for the business that you wish to review and select the "Add Testimonial" button. Follow the on-screen instructions and submit your testimonial to our classified ad directory. In order to palce a testimonial you must be registered and logged in.
To view testimonials provided by other users, simply find the classified ad for the business and select the "View Testimonials" button. To view testimonials for a business you do not need to be logged in.
If you can't find a classified ad for the business that you want to review then please contact the business and get them to place their details on PoundAd!
What division of PoundAd should I list my classified ad in?
When you first visit the PoundAd site, you will notice ten different divisions, these include:
AdPages: | Place your classified ad here if it is for a general item for sale. (e.g. television, furniture, clothes etc). If you are selling an item that is neither a vehicle nor a property then this is the section for you. |
AutoAd: | Place your classified ad here if you are looking to sell a car, van, motorcycle, caravan or any other type of vehicle. |
JobAd: | Place your classified ad here if you have a job vacancy available. |
BusinessAd: | Place your classified ad here if you want to advertise your businesses products or services. |
PropertyAd: | Place your classified ad here if you have a property for sale or rent. |
Local Clubs & Teams: | Place your classified ad here if you want to advertise your Local club or team. |
Wanted: | Place your classified ad here if there is a specific item you are looking for. |
Lost & Found: | Place your classified ad here if you want to return a lost item to its rightful owner. |
Charities: | Place your classified ad here if you want to advertise a local charity. |
Events & Entertainment: | Place your classified ad here if you want to advertise an event or entertainment you are providing. |
PoundAd Anti-Spam/Scam
The PoundAd team feel passionately about fighting against spam and/or scams which can make use of the internet unpleasant and in some cases can be dangerous. To combat spam/scam emails, PoundAd has implemented advanced email imaging technology that will convert email details, once input by the user, into an image. This image cannot be copied from our website without physically retyping or writing the details displayed within the image.
Here is some further advice that PoundAd can offer to avoid scammers:
- Do not under any circumstances wire funds via Moneygram or Western Union Transfer, anybody who requests this is sure to be a scammer.
- Never except cheques that are offered as an exchange and have a value greater than the price that you are selling your item for.
- PoundAd does not get involved in any buyer to seller transactions, and any buyer asking for money on behalf of PoundAd is a scammer.
If you receive any suspicious emails please forward the email to info@poundad.co.uk and PoundAd will investigate.
How safe are my personal details?
PoundAd provides you with the option to disclose as much detail about yourself within your classified ads as you see fit. You can choose whether to provide a number of different contact methods or simply provide one form of contact. All of the details that you provide PoundAd with upon registering will be kept secure and not disclosed to any third parties.
