PoundAd has developed import tools to enable you to upload multiple items at the same time and save you considerable time and effort. We provide two forms of upload including a CSV (Spreadsheet) upload and an XML import facility.

CSV (Spreadsheet) Import

1. Ensure that your spreadsheet of products is saved as a .CSV (Comma Seperated Value) document, and that it contains a header row with unique titles for each of your rows of data.

2. Login to your PoundAd account and select the "Advert Import" button from your account page.

3. Select the CSV Import facility and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once you have setup the upload facility your settings will be saved to enable you to instantaneously upload your products and services in the future.

XML Import

Follow these easy steps to setup your XML upload:

1. Use the following example XML upload definition to be applied to your own website and which reflects your current adverts for their import to the PoundAd website: XML Definition.

2. Login to your PoundAd account and select the "Advert Import" button from your account page.

3. Select the XML Import facility.

4. Type in or copy and paste the URL of the XML page on your website, in the format “http://www.YourWebsite.co.uk/YourXML.xml”.

5. Select the adverts that you wish to import and click "Import".

Developing An XML Upload Program For Your Website

Using the XML definition and a little know how, you (or your website developer) should be able to easily create an upload facility for your website to import content to the PoundAd database.
